SCREEN-OUT ELEMENT - Do you have the ability to perform the duties of the Boiler Plant Operator without more than normal supervision? Related experience includes: Operating three boilers with a capacity of 10,000 pounds of steam per hour per boiler; Regulating fuel feed and water levels and maintains required steam pressure and temperatures; Using Fireye control system, gauges, and computer generated data and graphics to determine adjustments or corrections necessary for proper boiler operations; The boiler plant operator prepares the boiler for annual inspections, boiler tuning to verify proper boiler emissions; Boiler Operator performs other maintenance and repairs including all preventive maintenance to all boilers, DA tank, pumps and valves; Replacing mechanical seals and packing to pumps and valves.

Correctly starts boiler as needed to produce steam flow (opening and closing valves and air cock, switching power, regulating water flow,etc.)

Inspects water glass magnetrol to ensure proper operation using hand turned valves reset buttons

Demonstrates tact, courtesy, appropriate conduct and behavior when interacting with patients, visitors, and employees in the performance of his/her duties as assignedE
11.
Maintains efficient combustion levels and ensure compliance with air pollution laws and regulations
12.
Completes assigned Work Orders and Repairs using industry accepted repair practices
13.
Routinely identifies the customer's situation properly and performs task(s) required to solve problems within established time frames
14.
Responsible for documenting maintenance, utility issues, and emergent after hour action reports
15.
Conforms to all agency and Local Directives related to patient safety, employee health, hazardous energy, and emergency management programs to ensure patient, staff, and vendor/contractor safety
16.
Conforms to all Federal, State, Agency Directives, and local Medical Center Memorandums (MCM) applicable to the use of Hazardous Materials to ensure patient, coworker, and vendor/contractor health aid.

Maintains a safe and clean work environments

Monitors emergency electrical generators to meet plant electrical requirements when the main electrical source is unable to provide the necessary power

Correctly operates oil system on boilers to ensure proper operation as back up fuel supply using atomizing oil gun, oil form tanks, and hand tools

Takes immediate action to prevent interruptions to plant operations and report all emergencies or dangerous conditions
