Related experience includes: start, operate, adjust, stop, maintain, and perform various operational repairs on single or multiple fuel power boilers and associated auxiliary and pollution control equipment; monitor, adjust and control all phases of boiler plant operations; regularly observe and note readings on gauges, meters, detectors, recorders, boiler water level indicators; maintain precise control over the quality or purity of steam produced; make decisions and changes to steam plant configuration to ensure it is safe, efficient and uninterrupted operations; use manual and automatic controls to safely operate a high pressure steam boiler plant; reading and interpretation work orders, instructions, specifications diagrams, drawings, and operation manuals; using and maintaining the tools and equipment; and perform duties with dexterity and safety. Perform the maintenance of equipment (e.g., couplings, gears, friction bearings, rolling elements, clutches, belt drives, chain rives, shaft, shaft alignment, seals with trade data).

Provide numerous operational adjustments to the burner management system to maintain boiler efficiency and safety.

Maintain proper chemistry control of boiler water, condensate, and feed water through daily testing and adjust chemical injection and blow down rates.

Operate auxiliary equipment such as deaerating feed water tank, two water softeners and three city water booster pumps.

Follow proper start up procedures on equipment predetermined check lists.

Perform the proper care and maintenance of all tools and equipment assigned.

Sounding the "Code Orange" alarm signal on the station steam whistle as specified by

Conduct pipe assembly maintenance and repair for power piping including the effects of thermal expansion, weight, other sustained loads.

Repair and adjust boiler combustion controls and boiler safety devices and individual air compressors for each boiler for steam atomizing used while running boilers on fuel oil.

Repair and install control linkages.
13.
Adjust and repair feed water regulators.
14.
Adjust Amines, Phosphate and sulfite to maintain proper water qualities.
15.
Advise on any adverse irregularities that could degrade metallurgy of components.
16.
Properly purge the flow of air or inert medium at a rate to effectively remove any gaseous or suspended combustible and replace them with air.
17.
Provide knowledge of gasket selection according to use with proper installation per manufacturer specifications.
18.
Interpret oral and/or written instruction from Operations Supervisor utilizing diagrams, drawings, operating manuals.
19.
Knowledge of fastener codes for material selection (e.g., fastener properties, mechanical properties, tensile/yield/shear strength, hardness, duct ability and identification and grade markings).
