I qualify for this Safety and Occupational Health Specialist position based on the following:

Apply risk assessment tools to analyze the severity and probability of safety and/or environmental hazards.

Investigate and analyze factors and cause data and develop specific recommendations for accident prevention.

Write Job Hazard Analyses (JHA) or similar workplace safety document.
6.
Recommend the application of specific techniques, methods, or procedures to identify, eliminate or control unsafe acts of conditions.
7.
Conduct safety surveys of infrastructure to ensure safety standards are met.
8.
Serve as advisor to leadership and management regarding structure, content and direction of a comprehensive risk management program.
9.
Identify new techniques, methods, and processes for safety and risk management.
10.
Oversee an assessment program for conduction management evaluations of safety and occupational health systems to control and/or mitigate hazardous working conditions.
11.
Provide guidance and/or oversight in the management of specific programs involving hazardous operations conducted by employees.
12.
Manage a comprehensive occupational safety and health program.
13.
Implement a safety systems approach to control organizational vulnerabilities related to occupational safety and health.
14.
Analyze behavioral, work environmental and/or accident statistical data to prepare reports for management.
15.
Review investigative reports of visitor and/or employee fatalities to make recommendations to eliminate hazards.
16.
Conduct annual inspections to ensure all applicable standards set fourth by the Department, Service and Region are followed.
17.
Monitor tasks or work areas using a variety of instruments to determine potentially unsafe exposures to health hazards.
18.
Analyze leading indicators to make proactive recommendations for organizational safety program improvements.
19.
Research, interpret, analyze and apply safety, occupational health and environmental regulations and guidelines.
