Thank you for your interest in this position, Public Safety Dispatcher located at Boston National Historical Park. This is a permanent full-time position. For each of the task statements below, please select from A through E to indicate the skill level that you possess for each task listed. The task statements were developed based on the knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies needed to perform the work of this position. Receives and evaluates 911/public emergency telephone calls, obtaining information through precise questions to determine the priority of the call.

Coordinate law enforcement, firefighting, and EMS resources for emergency response.
18.
Speak with irate or irrational callers in a professional and non-confrontational manner.
19.
Using standard procedures and terminology, orally communicate critical information concerning emergency situations over radio or phone to responding emergency personnel (law enforcement and other public safety responders) to ensure that they have the most up to date and accurate information.
20.
Explain and gain the cooperation of visitors in accepting and following laws, rules, regulations, etc.
