The Maintenance Mechanic (Carpenter/Locksmith) performs the duties of a journeyman level painter, carpenter, and locksmith worker. Duties include but not limited to cutting and duplicating keys, rekeying and swapping out lock cores, understanding of the master key system, working knowledge of cylindrical and mortise locks, working on electronic locks and access controls, painting wood, metal, equipment, using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment. Designing, layout and construction of walls using wood or metal studs, cutting, and installing drywall to include taping and mudding, repairs or replaces flooring, installs doors and door hardware. Set up, install, and adjust a variety of locking devices and/or combination locks and keyways.
