This includes: Career/Career Conditional or Excepted Service (i.e. Canteen, Hybrid, Title 38, etc. and meets interchange agreement requirements). This does not include temporary, term or temporary intermittent.
To verify your eligibility, you must submit a copy of your most recent Notification of Personnel Action, Standard Form 50 (SF-50). Your SF-50 must include enough information to be able to determine that time-in-grade requirements have been met (if applicable) and include your position title, pay plan/series/grade, tenure and the type of appointment (i.e. Competitive or Excepted). Please be aware that award SF-50's do not always include this pertinent information.

In addition to the basic requirements, the Medical Supply Technician (MST) at the GS 4 grade level must have at least six (6) months experience as a MST OR two (2) years of education above high school, that included at least 12 semester hours in courses related to the occupation. At the GS 4 grade level, the MST receives guidance from more experienced staff members and require frequent and direct supervision.

Medical Supply Technicians at the GS 5 grade level receive guidance from more experience staff members for more complex tasks and require direct supervision on new assignments. The GS 5 MST must have one (1) year of qualifying experience at the GS 4 grade level OR four (4) academic years above high school leading to a Bachelor's degree with at least twelve (12) semester hours in courses related to the occupation OR a Bachelor's degree.
