1. INDIVIDUAL OCCUPATIONAL REQUIREMENT:

Do you possess an undergraduate or graduate level degree with a Major study in hospital administration, public health administration, or related fields such as business or public administration with course work in health care administration?

OR

Do you possess progressively responsible analytical or administrative, or clinical management or supervisory experience in the healthcare field? This work may have been performed in an operating health care facility or a higher organizational echelon with advisory or directional authority over such facilities. Work must have involved a close working relationship with facility managers and analysis and/or coordination of administrative, clinical, or other service activities, and provided knowledge of the following:
Missions, organizations, programs, and requirements of health care delivery systems;
Regulations and standards of various regulatory and credentialing groups; and
Government-wide, agency, and facility systems and requirements in various administrative areas such as budget, personnel, and procurement.

2. GS-13 SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Do you possess one (1) full year of specialized experience in the Federal service equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-12 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization? Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: Demonstrated knowledge of the management and organizational structure of hospitals and health care systems; comprehensive knowledge of qualitative and/or quantitative methods for improvement of program effectiveness or the improvement of complex management processes and systems; analyzing and evaluating the effectiveness of medical center clinical center operations and programs in meeting established goals and objectives. 3. Research and interpret internal and external policies, directives, survey standard and regulatory requirements. (limit characters)
4. Monitor service activities including review and reporting of all workload statistics and
program functions.

5. Ensure accurate identification, reporting, trending and interventions and education to provide
efficient operations to protect the organization's resources.

7. Develop conclusions, recommendations, and actions based on objective analyses and
evaluation.

8. Collect data from multiple sources ensuring precise and accurate summaries are provided for

9. Prepare correspondence to local and national (Congressional) inquiries by collecting and
analyzing information and preparing responses for final signature.

10. Serve as the primary program resource to develop effective nursing information management

12. Make oral presentations and prepare written reports to graphically present statistics and other data. (limit characters)
13. Coordinate activities involved in administrative investigations or root cause analysis reviews for Nursing Service activities, and other internal and external reviews. (limit characters)
14. Work closely with Contracting Officials to review and negotiate the Service(s) contracts. (limit characters)

16. Collaborate with other services in the medical center to resolve patient care issues that cross over service lines. (limit characters)
17. Maintain current Joint Commission standards for the service and provide consultation to the programs/staff regarding Joint Commission standards and coordinate efforts for the Joint Commission survey process. (limit characters)
18. Coordinate and prepare the Service(s) organizational and functional charts. (limit characters)
19. Coordinate with Nursing Chief(s) and Nurse Manager(s) in developing staffing plan(s). (limit characters)
20. Coordinate proficiencies for nurses, performance appraisals, license renewal for nurses, competency assessments, promotions, and disciplinary/counseling consultation to the Service (s) staff. (limit characters)
21. Oversee day-to-day operation of the Service(s) administrative offices and supervision of assigned administrative support staff. (limit characters)
22. Coordinate the preparation of the annual evaluation of the Service(s) quality management activities. (limit characters)
23. Conduct quarterly environmental and safety inspections for the service(s) and submit reports to Safety Officer. (limit characters)
24. Prepare and submit the annual budget for the Service(s). (limit characters)
25. Maintain assigned fund control points or supervise designated control point officials. (limit characters)
26. Coordinate space needs to Facilities Management and Space Committee. (limit characters)
