Thorough knowledge of DoD, Joint Staff, NGB, DA, DAF, ARNG, and ANG strategic planning systems and procedures; active duty and reserve component forces in and around the state; and interface with other commands to develop, update, coordinate and implement long-range strategic plans, master plans, and programs.

Ability to conduct detail review, analysis, and evaluation of various plans, studies, trends, reports, legislation, capabilities, planning and policy directives, operational requirements, etc., to access and determine the impact on NG missions.

Knowledge of the policies, requirements, and procedures in order to analyze and determine the National Guards short, mid, and long-range strategic plans and policies requirements regarding: war fighting, theater security cooperation, international relations, federal and state homeland security, and civil support missions.
6.
Knowledge of and skill in planning and coordinating joint exercises, in order to facilitate joint and interagency operations. Coordination is with National Guard, Reserves or active duty components within the state or in neighboring states.
