SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Do you have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-05 grade level in Federal service that has required application of the knowledge, methods, and techniques of this position? Examples of qualifying specialized experience include: Ability to perform a wide variety of blood collection of a responsible nature requiring a representative knowledge of clinical science to understand the multiplicity of tests and specimen requirements, the mechanics of vein puncture and patient preparation; The ability to demonstrate versatility of skill in rapidly proceeding from one patient to another to perform multiple and simultaneous collection using accurate patient and specimen identification procedures, Experience setting up equipment for all phlebotomy procedures, making sure that all phlebotomy and ancillary equipment is functioning to standard, and Experience in accuracy in gathering patient-related clinical information as well as proficiency in the clinical skills necessary. 3. SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE: Have you successfully completed half a year of graduate education (usually 9 semester hours) that is directly related to the work of this position? One full year of graduate education is considered to be the number of credit hours that the school attended has determined to represent one year of full-time study. If that information cannot be obtained from the school, 18 semester hours should be considered as satisfying the one year of full-time study requirement.
