Ability to recognize different categories of linen items and clothing (general, special, medical, dietetic, housekeeping, patient, and surgical personnel uniforms) as well as the fabric composition of wool, cottons, blends, and permanent press.

Knowledge of formulas necessary for processing various categories and soil classification of linens

Knowledge of the proper water levels, temperatures, and timing cycles for various fabrics as well as a knowledge of all chemical compositions used in linen and laundry production.

Responsible for maintaining production schedules by following set procedures for loading and timing of machines.

Follows regulations on the separation, segregation, storage, transportation and disposal of all medical wastes and ensures compliance with EPA, DOT and OSHA regulations

Knowledge of and ability to safely operate heat-seal type machinery (for example, Therompatch and Perma-Print Machines in order to repair and mark health care linens and wearing apperal.

Observes washers and dryers during operation for possible malfunctions.

Knowledge of operating commercial laundry tumble dryers, flat work ironer, crossfolders, stacker conveyor belts and small folders
12.
Loaded and unload washers using the Gardner Overhead Monorail Hoisting and Stationary System.

Responsible for maintaining production schedules by following set procedures for loading and timing of machines.
14.
Skilled to operate commercial washers in the manual and automatic modes of operation and to be able to accurately determine the prescribed load for processing by observing rated capacity for each piece of equipment.

Keeps supervisor and/or team leader informed of difficult and/or controversial issues and unique problems.
